Drinks Writing
Wine, whisky, gin, cognac, vodka, rum — you name it, I’ve probably written about it. I love the process and the passion that goes into my favourite drinks, whether that’s at the distillery or behind the bar. Two years ago, I joined the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and visit almost every week, further honing my palate and my skills as a drinks writer.
Most of my writing in this field sits at the intersection between travel journalism and drinks journalism, exploring how tourism dollars are reinvested into local industries to create a more refined product. In particular, I love to use drinks writing to call attention to overlooked regions, such as Czech wine or Scottish gin (before it was popular).
